Gellert, Klein & MacLeod currently represents, either as general counsel or as special counsel, a number of municipalities throughout Dutchess County, including cities, towns, and villages. Gellert, Klein & MacLeod also represents several fire districts, sewer and water districts, municipal planning boards and municipal zoning boards of appeal.

In addition, Gellert, Klein & MacLeod has represented and currently represents individuals, as well as its municipal clients, throughout the Hudson Valley with respect to issues involving municipal law, environmental law and public authority law. Such representation includes zoning matters, agricultural issues, land use planning, housing matters, code enforcement matters, development matters, and administrative law matters, among others. Gellert, Klein & MacLeod’s government and municipal law attorneys also practice in all aspects of industrial development and economic development zone projects, residential development projects, site plans and specific use permits.

Representation of Municipalities

Gellert, Klein & MacLeod’s government and municipal law attorneys understand the challenges, struggles, and issues which are faced by municipalities on a regular basis. Representation of Fire Districts

An active volunteer firefighter with the New Hackensack Fire Company for over 40 years, and Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the New Hackensack Fire District, Roderick J. MacLeod knows, first hand, the challenges and struggles faced by fire departments on a daily basis.  Mr. MacLeod combines knowledge gained during his years as a volunteer fire fighter with his years of experience as an attorney to serve a unique sector in the legal community, providing legal services to volunteer, career and combination fire districts throughout the Hudson Valley.
